UPCOMING EVENTS AT PRACTICAL ART!

Kids Art classes with The Bergamot Institute
Thursday's in July, from 5pm-6:30pm

Classes are for kiddos (parents are welcome too!), ages 7-12, who'll participate in an hour and a half of learning about a variety of arts with informative instruction and engaging, hands-on arts activities with The Bergamot Institute. Each activity is structured so that tasks can be easily accomplished by younger students but with broad parameters to allow older students to exercise their imagination and take many of the projects a step further.

July 2015

"Turn Them into Trees" by Shannon Youso
Exhibition: July 1st-31st, 2015
Reception for the Artist: First Friday July 3, 7-9

Drawing from her experience working with individuals living with mental illness and volunteering with families experiencing homelessness and poverty, Shannon found inspiration in the practice of “turning people into trees” (Ram Dass, On Self Judgment). This series takes a whimsical approach in depicting some of the internal struggles that many of us face, in an effort to address these subjects with compassion, for the purpose of acceptance and appreciation of ourselves and each other.
