Knitting 101
Saturday, January 14th, 2012.
1pm-2pm, lesson.
2pm-3pm, open knit.

In this beginner level workshop, you'll learn the basics of knitting. We'll show you how to cast on, knit, pearl, and cast off as well as demonstrate some of the basic stitch patterns- stockinette, garter, seed, and ribbing for those students ready for a bit of a challenge.  We'll also go over the basics of reading a knitting pattern so you can put your new skill to use at home!

We've set aside two hours of couch space: The first hour will comprise the lesson and the second hour is an open knit where students are free to ask additional questions, work on projects, or get assistance starting new projects.

What you'll need: You'll need to bring your own knitting needles and yarn. For very inexperienced students, we recommend size 10 (6mm) or larger. Brighter colored yarn is easier to see when first learning but students are you're welcome to bring any type of yarn you like.

Cost for the lesson: $20
To attend the open knit is FREE!
